Glimke is a hamlet belonging to the Wüsten district in the Lippe town of Bad Salzuflen in northeast North Rhine-Westphalia .

The hamlet is located about 1.8 kilometers north of Wüsten, directly east of Hellerhausen and is traversed by the Glimke of the same name .

Surname

The earliest mention was made in 1492 as Glyntbeke . In the oldest Lippe land treasure registers from 1507, a farm is called " Karstin vupper Glintbecken ". Other documented names are Glymmeke (1508), Glymbecke (1535, in the Landschatzregister), Glimbrecke (1536, during a boundary stone setting ), Glimbecke (1545, in the Landschatzregister) and Glintbecke (1610).

Landmarks

Along the former border between the Fürstent (h) around the Lippe and the Free State of Prussia and the County of Ravensberg, there are around 50 state boundary stones that have been entered as architectural monuments in the monuments lists of Bad Salzuflen , Herford and Vlotho .
