The 50 national landmarks are in the monument lists of Westphalia North Rhine- cities Bad Salzuflen in the district of Lippe and Herford and Vlotho in the Herford in Germany registered monuments .

The entry for Bad Salzuflen was made on September 4, 1989, for Herford on September 23, 1987 or August 22, 1989 and for Vlotho between 1995 and 1992. The basis for inclusion in the monument lists is the Monument Protection Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (DSchG NRW) .

The boundary stones stand along the former border between the Fürstent (h) around Lippe and the Free State of Prussia or the county of Ravensberg .

All of the former state boundary stones between Prussia and Lippe have been recorded by the Bad Salzuflen and Herford offices, and some of them still serve today as binding boundary markers between the Herford and Lippe districts.

In addition to the Monument Protection Act, the boundary stones are also protected by the "Law on Land Surveying and the Property Cadastre" (Vermessungs- und Katastergesetz - VermKatG NRW) and are owned by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
