Evangelical Brotherhood Kecharismai

The Evangelical Brotherhood Kecharismai (EBK), also known as “Flower Monks” , is an Evangelical community in the form of a registered association within the Evangelical Church in Württemberg . It is based in Dettingen an der Erms , and its members mainly work in garden design, flower trading and their own horticultural businesses .

The community has 20 members and operates two publicly accessible gardens / parks: "Garden of Eden" and "Garden of Silence", and a horticultural company with its own cultivation of flowers and plants. She sells her goods in a flower shop and at markets. The brotherhood runs and manages a nursing home (house of security) for around fifty people in need of care. They run a monastery café and run a cultural business offering concerts , plays and slide shows. In addition to the daily monastery service , there is also a temporary monastery . According to her, horticulture is part of the realization of her vocation . They see their spirituality in the spiritual line from Luther via Benedict to Taizé .

Major fire

On December 5, 2003, some facilities fell victim to a major fire : the residential building of the brothers and sisters and the church burned to the ground, but the fire department was able to prevent the flames from spreading to the neighboring retirement home . On February 26, 2005, the rebuilt brotherhood house was opened and inaugurated with the participation of several communities .
