Our Father Sculpture Garden

The Evangelical Church in Hoffenheim , a district of the large district town of Sinsheim in the Rhein-Neckar district in northern Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1841 in the center of the village on the site of a dilapidated church from 1731. The old parsonage and a modern Our Father's sculpture garden stand by the church . A little further away, a new rectory was built in the 1890s.

On July 27, 1885, the theologian Georg Ziegler was ordained a missionary here by Pastor Schück.

Bells

Before the First World War, the ringing in Hoffenheim consisted of four bells. One bell was cast by Paulus Strobel in Speyer in 1766, a second by Anselm Franz Speck in Heidelberg in 1780 , and a third in 1806 by his son Lucas Speck . The fourth bell from 1864 was cast around a bell donated in 1720. During the First World War, three of the bells had to be delivered for armament purposes, only the Strobel bell from 1766 remained in the church. Thanks to donations from people from Hoffenheim who emigrated to America, a new four- bell was cast at the Bachert bell foundry in Karlsruhe in 1920 , after which the old bell was decommissioned. The four bronze bells from 1920 had the chimes f sharp ', a sharp', c sharp '' and dis '', diameters from 60 to 110 cm and weights from 145 to 765 kg. However, these new four bells had to be delivered again in the Second World War, so that afterwards the bell from 1766 called again for service before a new bell was procured again in 1951; the bell from 1766 was then sold to Boxberg-Uiffingen, where it hangs in the Catholic Church today. The four bells from 1951 have the chimes f ', g', b 'and c' ', were cast by Bachert in Kochendorf ( Bad Friedrichshall ), have a diameter of 77 to 119 cm and weigh 269 to 931 kg. The two larger ones were bought by the Protestant congregation, the tobacco growers' association Hoffenheim and the Fr. W. Engelhardt family donated the smaller ones. In 2003 a fifth bell was added to the chime, cast by Bachert in Bad Friedrichshall, with the strike tone d '', a diameter of 72.4 cm and a weight of 235 kg.
