The Protestant church is a listed church building in Kleinenbremen , a district of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

A church was first mentioned in 1181, this was replaced in 1483. When it was demolished in 1893, only the lower part of the church tower remained. The neo-Gothic gallery with gabled transept-like rooms was built by Heinrich Hutze from 1893 to 1896 and inaugurated in 1896. The retracted choir is closed on three sides. The lower floors of the 61-meter-high square west tower were built according to a designation in 1483. In the interior, ribbed vaults rest on round supports. The lead glass windows are from the construction period.

A part of the Hohenzollern treasure was hidden in the church from 1944 to 1946 : Kurt von Plettenberg , head of the general administration of the formerly ruling Prussian royal family , had the Prussian royal crown and 15 tobacco boxes walled in by Frederick the Great under the cellar stairs to prevent them from being brought into the Allies To reveal Berlin . The connection to Kleinenbremen came about because von Plettenberg was previously head of the administration of the Schaumburg-Lippe house in Bückeburg.
