church

The building in neo-Gothic style with an east-facing tower facade facing Julius-Raab-Promenade 8 and a longitudinal facade facing Heßstrasse 18 was built between 1891 and 1892 according to the plans of the architect Ludwig Schöne . The church tower has a pyramid roof, the church tower facade has a pointed arch portal, a tympanum with a relief Agnus Dei and a rose window. The facade with incised ashlars has stepped buttresses, pointed arch windows and an eaves with a round arch frieze.

The hall has a ribbed vault. The choir is just closing. The middle panel of the neo-Gothic retable altar has a picture of the crucified by the painter Emil Fuchs .

In 2014 the church and rectory were completely renovated. In the course of this renovation, the two buildings were connected by means of a new entrance foyer including a glass roof, creating an atrium that serves as a community hall.

The church interior was redesigned as part of the renovation in cooperation with the Federal Monuments Office. The original substance is combined with new creations in a simple design for liturgical use.

Bells

Of the original three bells that hung in the tower, only one survived the two world wars. The bell should be completed again promptly.

organ

The organ was built in 1959 by Orgelbau Pirchner as a mechanical slider chest organ and was one of the first instruments of the so-called "organ movement" after the Second World War in Eastern Austria. In 2014 it was restored by Walter Vonbank as part of the general renovation of the church and two registers were added.
