The Evangelische Gymnasium Doberlug-Kirchhain is a grammar school in Doberlug-Kirchhain . The grammar school was attended by 323 students in 2014. About 30 teachers teach at the school.
history
The grammar school was founded by the Protestant institution on August 8, 2005 in the buildings of the Gerberstadt grammar school , which was closed in 2003 . In the first grade 7, 50 students were enrolled. There were 10 teachers working at the school. At the end of the 2008/09 school year, exams were held for the first time at the end of grade 10. Finally, in 2009, work began in upper secondary level with grade 11. In 2010 there were 70 students in upper school. In 2011 the first class of high school graduates left school. The grammar school celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2015.

The main building of the grammar school houses the subject rooms for the subjects biology, mathematics, German, geography, history, art, music and foreign languages. There is also a computer cabinet and an auditorium .
- Technical center
After a renovation of the technical center, formerly also the polytechnic center, specialist rooms for physics, chemistry and IT are available.
- Gym
All classes of physical education take place in the sports hall rented by the city . In addition, the 1.7 km away sports field in Kirchhain is mainly used in summer.
- Observatory
The observatory , which was inaugurated in 1988 and has also been the seat of the Kirchhainer Sternfreunde eV association since 1991, is also located on the school premises . With an equatorial south sundial and a dome diameter of three meters, it is one of the most modern observatories in the state of Brandenburg. In addition, the Astronomy Working Group is taught here.
