The Evangelische Gymnasium am Dom zu Brandenburg is a grammar school in the Dom district in Brandenburg an der Havel .
history
The Domgymnasium is to continue the tradition of the Brandenburg Knight Academy , an educational institution that has existed for several centuries. After the Protestant primary school started operating in 2000, the grammar school was founded in 2006 and the first pupils were able to change at the beginning of the 2006/2007 school year. The school was designed as an all-day school linked to reform pedagogy .
The Domgymnasium was located in the rooms of the Domkietzschule, a prefabricated building constructed in the type school , near the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Brandenburg . At the time of the GDR there was the polytechnic high school “Dr. Theodor Neubauer ”. Further schools followed after the political change and the restructuring of the school landscape in Brandenburg. The renovation of the school building cost around 2.5 million euros.
