The Protestant rectory is a monument in the town of Velten in the Oberhavel district in the state of Brandenburg .

Architecture and history

The rectory on the Anger (today's Breite Str. 17) was completed in 1863 and served as accommodation for the pastor of the village church built in 1750 . The listed ensemble includes the barn, the stable and a wash house, as well as the enclosure of the courtyard. To the right of it, at 16 Breiten Straße , is the former village school.

The single-storey house has a T-shaped floor plan, is made of solid brick and has a gable roof. The other buildings and the enclosure of the courtyard were also built using brick. Master mason Wilhelm Brandt and master carpenter Julius Thiele were responsible for the construction.

Today the rectory belongs to the Protestant parish Velten of the parish of Oberes Havelland in the Potsdam district of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .
