Evelin Kaufer
Evelin Kaufer , married Schmuck (born February 22, 1953 in Sohland on the Spree ), is a German athlete who - starting for the GDR - won the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich won (42.95 s, together with Bärbel Struppert , Christina Heinich and Renate Stecher ).
At the same Olympic Games, she also started in the 100-meter individual race , but was eliminated in the intermediate run. In the Olympic year she also won the GDR championships in the 100-meter run (11.2 s), but in the absence of Renate Stecher , the world's best sprinter at the time.
Evelin Kaufer started for the SC Einheit Dresden and trained with Werner Mielich . In her active days she was 1.60 m tall and weighed 53 kg. After her sports career, she became a qualified sports teacher and worked at a school in Dresden. She married the GDR Oberliga soccer player Udo Schmuck .
