Evelin Novak

Evelin Novak (born January 4, 1985 in Čakovec , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

At the age of twelve she began her vocal training with Darija Hreljanovic . Five years later she was the youngest student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz . This was followed by studies at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts . Her singing teacher there was the internationally renowned opera singer Dunja Vejzovic . She had had her voice trained with Mirella Freni . Evelin Novak completed her vocal training in 2008. The soprano then worked at the opera studio of the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.

In 2009 she received engagements at the State Opera Unter den Linden . A year later she made her debut as Saffi in Der Zigeunerbaron at the Mörbisch Sea Festival . The singer has been a permanent member of the ensemble of the Berlin State Opera since the 2011/2012 season, where she can be heard in roles such as Pamina ( Die Zauberflöte ), Eurydike ( Orphée aux enfers ) and Jenny ( Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny ). In 2013 she made her debut as Carlotta in Millöcker's Gasparone at the Graz Opera and sang Mimi in La Bohème at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival in the summer . In September 2014 she made her debut at the Berlin State Opera as Violetta Valéry in “La traviata”. Guest engagements have taken the young soprano to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (Berta in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”), the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (Micaëla in “Carmen”), and the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden (“Rise and Fall of the City Mahagonny «).

In addition to her stage presence, Evelin Novak works as a lieder and concert singer. Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to the modern and includes the genres opera, operetta, lied and oratorio.
