Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum
The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is an aircraft museum in McMinnville , Oregon . It was founded in 1991 by Captain Michael King Smith, the son of Delford M. Smith, the founder of Evergreen International Aviation . Evergreen International Aviation is the parent company of Evergreen International Airlines .
The approximately 37,000 square meter museum building houses a collection of rare aircraft, aircraft instruments and a museum shop. The heart of the museum is the Hughes H-4 "Spruce Goose" designed by Howard Hughes , which arrived in McMinnville in individual parts in 1993 and was reassembled by the end of 2001.
