Everhard Westermann (born November 16, 1905 in Braunschweig ; † July 16, 1973 there ) was a German publisher and bookseller. He was a co-owner and member of the management team of the Georg Westermann publishing and printing company, which formed the nucleus of the Westermann Group .

Life

Everhard Westermann was the son of the publisher Georg Westermann (1869–1945) and his wife Magdalene Westermann (née Wätjen). With Luise and Friedrich Westermann he had two siblings; Together with the husband of Luise Westermann, Georg Mackensen , he later managed the Westermann publishing house.

Everhard Westermann joined the limited partnership (KG) of the publishing and printing company Georg Westermann in 1931 as a personally liable partner . The publishing house was founded in 1838 by Everhard's great-grandfather George Westermann and has been family-owned since then, but was mainly managed by co-owner Hans Reichel in the years before Everhard Westermann joined the company . In 1933 Georg Mackensen, Everhard Westermann's brother-in-law, also became a personally liable partner. Hans Reichel and his son Helmut resigned from the management of the publishing house in 1935.
