The Evermann Cove is a 300 m long bay on the south coast of Bird Iceland before the west end of South Georgia . It is located immediately southwest of Jordan Cove .
Participants in the South Georgia Biological Expedition (1958-1959) surveyed the bay. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1961 after the American ichthyologist Barton Warren Evermann (1853-1932), who worked as an employee of the US Bureau of Fisheries between 1891 and 1914 for the protection of fur seals .
