Every Home for Christ

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Every Home for Christ (EHC, officially World Literature Crusade ) is an international Christian - evangelical mission society that aims to "bring the gospel of Jesus to everyone everywhere" . The carrier in Germany is called Aktion: In each house e. V. (AJH) and in Austria there is the Evangelium in Each House (EijH) association. In Switzerland, the work ran until mid-2011 under the name Christ for All (CFA) and has since been continued by the Livenet organization (for Switzerland) and the Mission Society of Light in the East (for Southeastern Europe).

working area

The main activity of the Mission Society is the systematic door-to-door evangelism by distributing modern, free pamphlets, flyers , tracts and calendars aimed at reaching the population of an entire country as possible. A Bible course in numerous languages is also offered to those interested . The AJH does not plant its own church and therefore refers to local churches in the scriptures. Where this is not possible, home Bible groups are formed.

history

The company was founded in 1946 as the "Tract Club of the Air" in Canada . The international center of the organization is now in the United States. The movement has been present in Germany since 1967, in Austria since 1973 and in Switzerland since 1975.

The international center of the movement, which has carried out actions in almost 200 countries, is in Colorado Springs , a stronghold of the evangelical movement. EHC says it has local offices in around 80 countries, 1200 full-time employees and 14,000 volunteers.

Some media outlets referred to EHC in their reports on the US presidential campaign in 2004 as a conservative Christian organization advocating the election of George W. Bush .

Branches of work

The German branch of the organization was founded in 1967 by the then managing director of the German Evangelical Alliance, Peter Schneider, in Berlin under the name Aktion: In each Haus e. V. and is only active in Germany. The volunteers passed on around 62 million of the 70 different evangelistic scriptures in over 40 million households in Germany between 1967 and 2017. The plant is a member of the Evangelical Missions Working Group (AEM), the umbrella organization for youth missions “netzwerk-m” and the Missionary Services Working Group (AMD).

In Austria there has been the Evangelium in Each House (EijH) association since 1973 .

The work of the Swiss organization Christ for All has been continued by two new supporting organizations since the sudden death of the head of mission Daniel Blaser in January 2011: The Livenet organization focuses its work on Switzerland and works there in a similar way to the CFA. Since June 2011 the Missionswerk Licht im Osten has taken over all CFA projects in Southeast Europe and continues them under the name of Christ for all Eastern Europe . The association Christ for All was dissolved at the end of February 2012.

Partnerships

The organization works on the faith base of the Evangelical Alliance and offers the partnership to all people, parishes and churches who recognize this base.

Action: In every house e. V. is a member of the German Evangelical Alliance, the Working Group Evangelical Missions, the Ring Missionary Youth Movements , and the Working Group Missionary Services of the EKD .

financing

The work is financed exclusively through donations. In Switzerland, CFA has the seal of approval SEA.
