Missionary Services Working Group

The Missionary Services Working Group (AMD) is a professional association and also part of Diakonie Deutschland in Berlin. It deals with all aspects of the missionary mandate of the church, especially in preaching and diakonia.

AMD initiates missionary projects, supports evangelistic engagement and offers instruments for church building and Bible-related work. It promotes the connection between mission and diakonia. In addition, she develops material for community practice and issues publications that are intended to help expand the missionary competence of volunteers and full-time workers.

Belong to the organization

  • the offices for missionary services or offices for community service of all 20 EKD member churches,
  • 75 independent organizations and associations that feel committed to missionary work and do this under the umbrella of the evangelical church.

Ulrich Fischer is the chairman, Pastor Hans-Hermann Pompe is the general secretary.

  • Missionary Education
    • Faith courses; Information about various belief courses as well as belief courses developed by AMD itself , namely "SPUR8", "Emmaus - on the path of belief, stages of life -" religious instruction for adults
    • the action churches in tourism with symposia for church leaders
    • Network for Christian cafes and pubs
  • Missionary Church Development
    • Development of faith courses such as Spur8 or the follow-up course noticeably.believe.leben
    • Specialist conferences on various topics, such as predicant work and Fresh X projects
    • A project group and annual meetings for House District Labor
    • Suggestion and development of material on various topics
  • Missionary-diaconal profile development
    • Networking of projects in diaconal institutions and in parishes,
    • Specialist conferences for visiting services and community diaconia
    • Courses for employees in diakonia
  • Bible study and interpretation
  • Literature and magazines
    • Focus community; AMD theological journal published six times a year (until 2019)
    • Study letters as a supplement to the focus on community, in each of which one topic is dealt with in depth. There are series of study letters on the Bible, diakonia, church building, religions and pastoral care. (until 2019)
