Evil Shepherd is a Belgian black and thrash metal band from Aalst , which was founded in 2008.
history
The band was formed in 2008 after singer Jonah and drummer Wesley left their previous band Hyena. At the same time the band Wreckage broke up, so guitarist Glenn "Maes" joined Wesley and Jonah. Together they rehearsed the first songs. After a week or two, bassist Tommy joined the band and completed the line-up. On September 27, 2008 the band recorded their first demo History of Violence , before releasing the second demo Sadistik Legions on February 28, 2009 . On May 3, 2010, the recordings for the debut album began. After the work was finished on May 8th, Wesley left the band on August 30th and was replaced by JR. On October 1st, the debut album Sowing Death was released via Witches Brew Records . In September 2012, the second album Evil Through Darkness and Darkness Through Death followed through Empire Records , after a tour with Aura Noir .
style
The band plays Thrash Metal, which has been heavily influenced by Black Metal; accordingly the texts often deal with satanic topics. The music is comparable to the works of Exodus and Destruction , but also Legion of the Damned .
