The Hohen Neuendorf West Station is a regional station on Berlin outer ring in the city of Hohen Neuendorf in Oberhavel .

history

Signal box How, 2014

The station went into operation on August 10, 1954. It is located to the west of the junction of the outer ring with the Northern Railway, about 1.2 kilometers west-northwest of the Hohen Neuendorf train station. It was set up to connect Hohen Neuendorf to the trains bypassing West Berlin on the outer ring. It originally consisted of two through tracks, two external platform tracks and a small station building with a gable roof. From the 1960s to the early 1990s, trains ran from Falkenhagen via Hennigsdorf or Hennigsdorf Nord to Birkenwerder every hour, as well as a few commuter trains in the morning to Berlin-Lichtenberg and back in the afternoon.

After 1990 the southern platform went out of service and the track there was dismantled . The station building was auctioned in April 2013. In January 2015 the pedestrian bridge, which had been closed for a long time due to dilapidation, was torn down.
