Evolution 1 is the debut album by the Austrian singer Pænda . This was released on February 9, 2018 on the label Living Room Records .

Gabriela Horn started her project Pænda in 2016. In November 2016 their first single Waves was released , which got some attention. The song was played on the youth channel FM4 , among others .
In 2017 she signed a contract with the music label Living Room Records. The album was created over two years in Pænda's home studio in Vienna . She recorded most of the songs overnight. All lyrics and music were written and produced by her. The songs were mixed by Thomas Pröschl and the final mastering was done by Martin Scheer . The album was produced in Primitive Studios.
Music and lyrics
Evolution 1 mainly includes electro pop music . Most of the songs were recorded on the keyboard , but other instruments such as guitar or electric bass are also on the album. Even Autotune was used. There are a total of 12 songs on the album. The song Waves can be found as a bonus track on the album. All songs were written and recorded by the interpreter herself. Pænda and Julian Hruza produced the songs.

Bonus track: Waves
Single releases
In November 2016, Waves was released as the first single from the album. The single got some attention and was played on various radio stations. However, the single did not make it into the charts. Good Girl was released as the second single in January 2018 . The second single also failed to make it into the charts. In May 2018, Paper-Thin was the third and final single on the album. This single also failed to make it into the charts. Music videos were produced for all three singles and uploaded to Pænda's official YouTube channel.
Cover
The cover shows the artist against a black background. She can be seen with part of her upper body. Her hair is dyed blue and arched open to one side. She looks at the viewer with a questionable look. Above her head is the writing of the album and the artist. Both are kept in white. The cover gives a 3D effect. The photo of the album cover was taken by Peter Gordebeke. The artwork was designed by GH.
