Ewald Glombitza

Ewald Glombitza (born November 16, 1878 in Halbau ; † December 15, 1969 in Kändler ) was a German politician ( KPD ). He was mayor of Kellers and a member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Glombitza, son of a weaver , worked after an apprenticeship as a weaver in an English weaving mill in Grünberg (Silesia) . In 1902 he joined the textile workers' association and in 1904 the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). In 1913 Glombitza moved to Limbach . There he later became chairman of the textile workers' association. In September 1913 he was a delegate to the SPD party congress in Jena . Globitza was a soldier in World War I from 1914 until his wounding in 1917 .

Glombitza joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD) in 1917 and became a member of the Spartakusbund in 1918 . During the November Revolution he was a member of the Limbach Workers and Soldiers Council . Until 1925 he worked full-time in the General German Trade Union Confederation and was then managing director of the consumer association in Limbach from 1925 to 1930. In April 1925 he became a candidate for the successor to the outgoing Paul Bertz in the Saxon state parliament, of which he was a member until the end of the legislative period in October 1926. In 1925 Glombitza was elected mayor of Kändler near Limbach-Oberfrohna and held this office until 1931.

In 1928 Glombitza was excluded from the party by the district leadership of the Erzgebirge-Vogtland of the KPD because of a "breach of discipline". As mayor, he had not adhered to the decision of the district management and had not positioned himself against the increase in property tax planned by the Saxon state government .

After leaving office, Glombitza worked in a foundry near Chemnitz until he reached retirement age . Politically, he no longer appeared.
