Ewald Sauer

Ewald Sauer (born July 6, 1881 in Eisern , Siegen district , † September 20, 1957 in Dillenburg ) was a German politician (DNVP).

Live and act

After attending the primary school in Eisern and the advanced training school in Siegen , Sauer worked as a miner from 1895 to 1908. From 1901 to 1902 he was a member of the military. In 1908 Sauer became district manager in the main office of the trade union of Christian miners in Germany in Essen .

When the First World War broke out , Sauer became managing director of the Central Association of Agricultural Workers. From 1915 he took an active part in the war. After the end of the war, Sauer took over the post of managing director of the Association of Evangelical National Workers' Associations of Central Germany in Eilenburg . In 1919 he was again district manager of the union of Christian miners in Germany. In addition, he worked as a shop steward for the insured of the Siegerland Knappschaft in Siegen. From 1921 to 1925 he was a member of the district committee of Dillenburg.

After the war, Sauer became a member of the German National People's Party (DNVP). In October 1926 he entered the Weimar Republic Reichstag, which was elected in December 1924 , as a replacement for his deceased party colleague Felix Friedrich Graf von Merveldt .
