Explosiv - The hot iron was a television boulevard magazine on the German private television broadcaster RTLplus (now RTL ). The format emerged in 1994 from the program Explosiv - The Hot Chair , which had already been running for five years , and which was discontinued after a total of 159 programs. The hot iron ran every Monday evening around 10 p.m. Unlike The Hot Chair , The Hot Iron was no longer a discussion group , but dealt with more or less topical issues on a weekly basis using recorded clips . After only eleven programs, the program was again slightly redesigned and inherited on October 13, 1994 by the follow-up program Extra - Das RTL-Magazin , which is very similar in concept.
