Eyal Megged (* 1948 in New York ) is an Israeli writer , journalist and columnist .

Eyal Megged is the son of the playwright and publicist Aharon Megged . He grew up in Tel Aviv , where he studied philosophy and art history. He worked as an editor for the radio station Kol Israel . For Israeli daily newspapers he writes columns on topics from literature, culture and sport, including for Haaretz . Since 1993 he has been married to the writer Zeruya Shalev . His novel Sansibar, simple (original Hebrew title Ḥesed neʻûrayiḵ ) was published in German translation by Mirjam Pressler in 2005 by Bloomsbury Berlin and in 2006 by the Berlin paperback publishing house.
