history
According to the ferry regulations of 1810, the Kaiseraugster Rhine ferry has existed "since old days". In 1866 the hand rudder was switched to a cable ferry, which was in operation until August 1912. Then it was replaced by a motor ferry. With the opening of the footbridge at the Augst / Wyhlen barrage in the summer of 1994, the conditions changed. Since April 1, 1995, the ferry has been operated by the local community of Kaiseraugst.
