Reichenbach – Engehalbinsel ferry
The Reichenbach – Engehalbinsel ferry is a passenger ferry across the Aare in the Swiss canton of Bern .
The ferry runs from Zollikofen , north of the Aare, to the narrow peninsula of the city of Bern on the south bank. The ferry does not operate on Mondays, Tuesdays or in winter.
It was established by the Bern government for the British envoy John Burnaby , who rented Reichenbach Castle in Zollikofen as a summer residence in 1743 .
