The Fédération française des motards en colère (FFMC, roughly translated as the French Association of Angry Motorcyclists ) is an association founded in 1980 to represent the interests of motorcycle riders.

He organizes demonstrations, lobbies for legislative procedures and is involved in training and continuing education in the field of road safety.

history

In France, due to the many road accidents, a number of laws had been passed since 1972, affecting motorcyclists and moped drivers, which led to substantial tax increases. Became known a speech by Christian Gerondeau 1978 as motorcycle hostile diatribe was felt and tags it to a spontaneous demonstration of thousands of motorcycle, moped and scooter riders at the Place de la Bastille led in Paris.

With initiatives and stickers such as Les motards ne meurent pas, on les tue (motorcyclists don't die, they are killed), vignette: 80% dans le baba-re ( slogan based on a tax vignette from Raymond Barre in the sense of vignette in the bin ) or Le motard n'est pas une vache à lait (two-wheelers are not dairy cows) the association became known nationwide.

The FFMC was also involved in the anti-racism campaign SOS Racisme , which became known among other things with the motto Touche pas à mon pote ("Don't turn my buddy on"). The FFMC got involved with the slogan La France, c'est comme une mob, pour avancer il lui faut du mélange . The translation France is like a two-stroke motorcycle, it takes a mixture to get ahead , only partially reproduces the play on words with mob , which in French also means moped ( French mobylette ).

In 1988 the FFMC contributed to the establishment of the Europe-wide interest group FEM and FEMA (Fédération européenne des motards, Fédération des associations motocyclistes européennes ).
