Leader city
Führerstadt was an award given by Adolf Hitler to cities in the area of the so-called Third Reich during National Socialism . Architects appointed by Hitler himself (including Albert Speer Sr., Paul Ludwig Troost , German Bestelmeyer , Konstanty Gutschow , Hermann Giesler , Leonhard Gall and Paul Otto August Baumgarten ) developed urban redesign plans to meet the demands associated with the award. Due to the development of the war , these plans were mostly not implemented.
The leader cities were:
- Linz : The city where Adolf Hitler spent his youth was to become his retirement home after the war. That is why Hitler planned the establishment of the “ Führerstadt Linz ”.
- Berlin : see " World Capital Germania "
- Munich : the " capital of movement "
- Hamburg : the " capital of German shipping " (expansion plans by Konstanty Gutschow )
- Nuremberg : the " city of the Nazi party rallies "
