For referendums (short: VOLKSENTSCHEIDE ) was a German electoral association that pursued the goal of introducing referenda at all political levels . It was founded in 2007 in Kaufbeuren . The electoral association had around one hundred members in 2009. It was led by a three-person board consisting of Werner Fischer, Christoph Michalak and Thomas Blechschmidt. In preparation for the 2013 federal election, it renamed itself in September 2012 through an amendment to the articles of association to “List for INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES (LISTE-U)”. At the end of 2013, the electoral association dissolved into the Independent Party for Citizens' Democracy .

For the first time in the European elections in Germany in 2009 there were 22 nationwide candidates for referendums . The top candidate was Norbert Hense. The electoral community achieved a nationwide result of 39,996 votes (0.15% of the vote).

For the 2009 Bundestag election , a total of 22 candidates from the electoral group were admitted as direct candidates (individual applicants). In Thuringia , one of these candidates (Stephan Beyer) also appeared on the PIRATE state list . The single applicant Konrad Dippel achieved 14.1% in constituency 235 ( Weiden ) and was the only single candidate to pass the hurdle for reimbursement according to the federal electoral law .

The group of voters joined the INDEPENDENT party on December 31, 2013 and thus dissolved.
