The F. Kirchhoff GmbH is a corporate group of German construction company based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and a subsidiary of STRABAG SE . The company houses the transport route construction, structural and civil engineering, raw material extraction and raw material refinement divisions.

history

Franz Kirchhoff founded the company as an independent company in 1925. From May 1927 the company traded as F. Kirchhoff Asphalt-Teerstraßenbau. Kirchhoff died in September 1963 and the company changed from a sole proprietorship to a corporation. At the end of the 1970s, the situation in road construction deteriorated, so the company had to realign itself. The basis for the restructuring was created with the Kirchhoff Group.

On January 1, 2008 , the Austrian construction group STRABAG SE took a retroactive stake in F. Kirchhoff AG. STRABAG now holds 85% of the shares in the company, but the Kirchhoff family still holds 15%. In 2011 the legal form was changed from a stock corporation to a GmbH.
