T36 (Paralympics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

T36 and F36 are starting classes of Paralympic sports for athletes in athletics . Affiliations of athletes to the two starting classes are outlined as follows:

"Impairment of coordination (hypertension, ataxia and athetosis). Average impairment of all four extremities. Moving around without aids. Balance disorders, coordination disorders. Problems with explosive movements (jumping), as well as starting, stopping and turning while running. "

The division into classes indicates the degree of functional disability of an athlete that is relevant to competition . Track and field athletes in classes T33 - T38 and F31 - F38 belong to the "coordination impairments ( hypertension , ataxia , athetosis , cerebral palsy , stroke , traumatic brain injury and equals)" . Low class numbers indicate a higher level of impairment than high class numbers. Athletes with class numbers 31–34 start sitting (wheelchair), athletes with class numbers 35–38 standing.
