FAZ business radio

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FAZ Businessradio was a group of private business and news broadcasters, with locations in Berlin ( FAZ 93.6 Berlin ), Frankfurt ( FAZ 97.1 Frankfurt ) and Munich ( FAZ 92.4 Munich ). The partner was the "FAZ Electronic Media GmbH" belonging to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , which also produces the FAZ.NET news portal and occasionally produced television reports. Online, radio and TV journalists worked together across media. FAZ Businessradio broadcast a pure word program. Michael Häutemann was the editor-in-chief of the business radio for all 3 stations (Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich) . Alexander von Roon moderated the stock market news live.

In November 2000, FAZ Businessradio succeeded the news broadcaster Berlin aktuell in Berlin . In October 2002 the Berliner Zeitung reported that the Berlin FAZ Radio 93.6 will cease broadcasting on November 1st if it does not succeed in finding an investor for the station. The two broadcasting stations in Frankfurt and Munich had already ceased operations a few weeks earlier, on August 31 at midnight.

Editor-in-chief Häutemann tried to set up the information and service broadcaster “Radio Tip” on the Berlin frequency. However, it failed in the application process of the state media authority. At the end of 2002 the FAZ Businessradio ceased operations. The Berlin FM frequency 93.6 MHz was taken over by the music broadcaster Jam FM . The Frankfurt VHF frequency 97.1 MHz was first taken over by Frankfurt Business Radio (FBR) , but after a year it was renamed Main FM and changed the program offer, since "there is no market for private news radio in Germany". In Bavaria today the Catholic broadcaster Radio Horeb broadcasts on the former FAZ frequency .
