Association of the Austrian Chemical Industry

The Association of the Austrian Chemical Industry - FCIO is the legal representation of interests of the chemical industry in Austria.

The association comprises around 280 member companies in the chemical industry and advocates their economic and educational framework. The FCIO examines laws and represents the common interests of its members vis-à-vis authorities, politics and the public. At the same time, the professional association is a collective agreement partner and communicates the employers' interests of the chemical industry to the unions.

Beyond the national level, the FCIO is involved in the further development of European chemical policy through its collaboration with the European chemical association CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council) and the employers' association ECEG (European Chemical Employers Group). Companies in the Austrian chemical industry are also represented in European branch organizations through the trade association.

Data

The association is represented by the functionaries of the professional association committee. The professional association committee is elected every five years by the member companies of the chemical industry. At the top are the chairman Hubert Culik ( Rembrandtin Lack GmbH Nfg. KG ) and his deputies Alexander Bouvier ( Treibacher Industrie AG ) and Helmut Schwarzl ( Geberit Produktions GmbH & Co KG ). The FCIO is headed by the managing director Sylvia Hofinger. In 2018, the member companies generated a production value of around € 16.2 billion and employed 45,596 people.
