The Chammünster football club , or FC Chammünster for short , is a sports club from Chammünster , a district of the small town of Cham in the Upper Palatinate . The club has the following departments: football , ski & inline, ice stock , tennis , table tennis , gymnastics and youth circles.
Soccer
The founding meeting of the association took place on February 17, 1961. In the same year they started without much preparation for the season on May 7, 1961 with the first game against Michelsneukirchen, which was won 7-2. In 1965 the new sports field on Hofinger Straße was inaugurated.
To this day, the first team only plays at district level. In the 1979/80 season they were closest to the district league. Chammünster became champion of the A-class east, but because of the new classifications, the champion did not advance directly to the rankings. A 2-4 defeat in the third decider against VfB Mantel prevented promotion.
Ski & inline
On January 18, 1970, at the annual meeting of FC Chammünster, the ski department was founded. Just a few weeks later, a downhill run with around 100 participants was held on the Roßberg. A giant slalom followed on the Bernhartshöhe. In the winter months, the club organizes the Ödenturmcup, the Minstach Cup race and the Tauerncup.
The club has also been running Inline Alpin since 2003 . In 2004 the inline European cup , 2007 the European championship , 2011 and 2016 the German championships and 2012 the world championships.
