The FC Dornach 1910 was a French sports club from the district Dornach the Alsatian city Mulhouse (French Mulhouse ) in Haut-Rhin , which existed from 1910 to 2018.

history

The association was founded in 1910 in the municipality of Dornach, which was still independent at the time and belonged to the Mulhouse district in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . Dornach was incorporated into the city of Mulhouse in 1914.

After Alsace-Lorraine fell to France again after the First World War , the club played in lower-class Alsatian leagues for most of the period up to the Second World War . From 1925 to 1929 the club belonged to the highest Alsatian league, the Ehrendivision ( Division d'Honneur Alsace ). The club name SS Dornach ( Société Sportive de Dornach ) has been handed down from this time .

During the German occupation of France in World War II from 1940 to 1944, the football clubs from Alsace-Lorraine took part in the games of the German Reich . The SS Dornach was accepted under the German name SpVgg Dornach in the Gauliga Alsace and took sixth and third from last place in the Oberelsass season in the 1940/41 season, which meant relegation to the local district class.

Since 1945 the club played again in the French league system and belonged to the Alsatian honor division from 1945 to 1950. Since then, the club has only played lower class at the department level. In 2018 the club, now called FC Dornach 1910 , was dissolved and struck from the club register.
