The Football Club Eastern was a Scottish football club from Glasgow that existed from 1873 to 1885.

history

Eastern FC was founded in 1873 and was one of eight clubs that helped found the Scottish Football Association in March of that year . Between 1873 and 1886 the club participated in the Scottish Cup . The greatest successes were in the seasons 1873/74 and 1874/75 reaching the quarter-finals. With John Hunter , Peter Andrews and Sandy Kennedy , the club provided three Scottish internationals . FC Eastern initially played in royal blue and red jerseys with white shorts, from 1877 in navy blue jerseys and white shorts. The home was Barrowfield Park in the Bridgeton district of Glasgow in the 1870s before the club moved from the East End to Springfield Park in the 1880s. The association was dissolved in 1885.
