The FC Götzis is an Austrian football club from the market town of Götzis in Vorarlberg and was founded in the 1926th The football club played from 1951 to 1980 with interruptions in the Landesliga Vorarlberg, a league of the then third Austrian division. The fighting team plays in the 1st national class.

The predecessor of FC Götzis was founded in 1926 and accepted by the Vorarlberg Football Association. Three years later, FC Götzis was spun off and founded as its own football club.

Men's soccer

After the World War, FC Götzis joined the Vorarlberg regional league and played its home games at the “Im Moos” sports field. Until the end of the 1970s, FC Götzis played in the 1st class Oberland or 2nd division or in the Landesliga Vorarlberg. In 1972 the club moved to the Möslestadion. In the relegation games between the Alpine League and the Vorarlberg Regional League in the 1978/79 season , the home game ended with a 0-0 draw, the away game was lost 3-0 and the Rheinthaler continue to play in the Vorarlberg Regional League. For two years Götzner became champions again and went straight to the Regionalliga West, in which he played for one season. Then the crash began for the club and at the end of the 1980s found itself in the 2nd regional class Vorarlberg. In 1991 they were promoted to the 1st national class and a year later to the Vorarlberg League. In 2002 they celebrated the championship title again and were promoted to the Vorarlbergliga, but in the 2006/07 season they placed eighth in the regional league and in 2009 they were relegated to the first regional class. In the following years they played in these two performance classes and since 2014 they have been in the 1st national class.

Women's soccer

The women's team at FC Götzis played in the Regionalliga West in the 1999/2000 and 2000/01 seasons .
