Liubimez 2007 (officially: PFK (Profesionalen futbolen klub) Liubimez (ПФК Любимец)) is a professional football club from Ljubimez , Bulgaria .

history

The association was founded in 1921 under the name Maritza . In 1947 the football club changed its name and was called Strela at that time . From the sixties the club was called Ljubimez . During its history, the club has played exclusively in the amateur field without any particular success. After the end of the 1993/94 season, the club was dissolved. After more than ten years, the association statute was restored in 2006 thanks to the Bulgarian businessman Atanas Stalev. In the 2006/07 season, the team still played under the name Haskovo II and rose to the southern group of the third W Grupa (amateur league). Before the start of the coming season, the club moved its headquarters to Ljubimez and adopted the name Ljubimez in 2007. After a successful 2007/08 season in the third division, the club rose to the Bulgarian B Grupa , with which he succeeded in entering professional football. After its successful 2012/13 season, the club was promoted to the А Grupa for the first time in its history. In a sensational debut, the club wins 1-0 against reigning champions Ludogorez Razgrad .
