The Penzberg football club is a sports club from Penzberg in the Weilheim-Schongau district . The club, which was founded in 1920, has a popular sports department for women in addition to its soccer department.
history
The club was founded on March 14, 1920, the first game director was Karl Haarbauer. A playing field was created in-house on Bichlerstrasse; the square was opened in July 1921. On April 6, 1924, the football department separated from the previous gymnastics club. During the Second World War , the first team's game operations were largely paralyzed. In 1946 Georg Schmid was elected chairman of the association; there was again a first and second team. In 1947 a standing grandstand was built. The club home was completed in 1949; the 1st team took part in the promotion games to the Bavarian State League. In 1950 Karl Sonnleitner became the first chairman of the association. In the 1953 season, the 1st team rose to the 1st amateur league. In 1955 she was Bavarian amateur league champion South and rose to the II. League South , but rose again in 1956 to the 1st amateur league, 1959 in the 2nd amateur league.
Currently, in 2015 they rose from the Zugspitze 3 district class to the Zugspitze Ost district league and from there as a promoter to the Oberbayern Süd district league in 2016.
One of the most famous members was referee Karl Wald , who claimed that he invented the penalty shootout .
