FC Stabio , founded in 1958, was a Swiss football club from Stabio, a municipality in the Mendrisio district in the canton of Ticino . He merged on July 2, 2006 with the former as Mendrisiostar known FC Mendrisio for FC Mendrisio-Stabio .

The club colors were yellow and black. The club played at Campo Sportivo Montalbano .

The sporting highlight of FC Stabio was the 1991/92 season, when the club rose to the third division, but had to say goodbye immediately as the penultimate. In the cup competition, the team from Stabio achieved a respectable success in the 2003/04 season in the first round in a district derby of the second division club FC Chiasso with a 3-2 win after extra time. On that day, Clementi, who shot out a 2-0 lead at halftime with a double strike in the 17th and 18th minutes, and Pelizzari, who secured victory with a penalty in the 105th minute, were among the heroes. In the next round, however, came out with a 0-2 home defeat against the first division club FC Thun .

The most famous player of the club is probably Valon Behrami . The Kosovo refugee grew up in the village and made his first football attempts from October 2, 1993 to August 21, 1997 at FC Stabio. Nowadays he is a professional in Italy at Fiorentina and a multiple Swiss national player who also took part in the 2006 World Cup.
