The FC Wittenbach is a sports club from the town of Wittenbach . The association was founded on July 29, 1958.

The sports club was founded on July 29, 1958 in the Adler Oedenhof restaurant. In the first few years, the players changed their jerseys in the Hirschen restaurant. In 1967 the Grüntal sports field was inaugurated with the opening game between FC Luzern and Birmingham City . In 1984 the club expanded the teams with a women's section. After relegation to the 4th Swiss league in the meantime, the club achieved a sensational promotion to the 2nd interregional league in 2001. In the same year the team reached the 1/16 final of the Swiss Cup . Under the direction of Massimo Busacca , Wittenbach played on the Grüntal sports field against the Swiss series champions GC 1: 4. Between 2004 and 2010 the team played either in the 2nd or 3rd Swiss league.

FC Wittenbach plays its home game at the Grüntal sports complex in the municipality of Wittenbach.

Trivia

In the 2014 calendar year, the association's board of directors granted approval for the completion of the new artificial turf pitch. The first game played on the pitch was played on April 30, 2015. At the end of September a delegation from Arsenal FC visited FC Wittenbach in camera to test FC Wittenbach's artificial turf. Arsenal ordered 1,300 square meters of the turf after testing by FC junior boss Andries Jonker.
