Leslie Stewart

Leslie Stewart (born March 21, 1961 in Laventille , Trinidad and Tobago ) is a former light heavyweight boxer from Trinidad and Tobago .

Professional career

Leslie won his first 18 fights, most of them by knockout. He suffered his first bust in his 19th fight, which took place in February 1986, against Marvin Johnson when it came to the vacant WBA world title .

In May of the following year, Leslie won the rematch against Marvin Johnson by giving up in round 8 and thus took the WBA world championship belt from him. He lost this, however, in his first title defense by TKo in round 4 to Virgil Hill .

Leslie played his last stand against Billy Lewis on January 15, 2000 and lost over 10 rounds by unanimous decision.
