society

Union Heidelberg was founded in 1911. In 1927, the FG briefly merged with VfB Heidelberg 02 , but appeared again independently from 1928.

On a sporting level, the club played no role in the championships of the Association of South German Football Associations . In the 1943/44 season, the club prevailed in the promotion round to the Gauliga Baden 1944/45 against Alemannia Rheinau and Germania Friedrichsfeld and rose to the Gauliga Baden . In the 1944/45 season , the FG Union Heidelberg met established Gauligists such as SV Waldhof Mannheim , VfL Neckarau and VfR Mannheim . After the club did not play for the games in Mannheim against Waldhof and VfR, the team was excluded from all other games that season.

After 1945, the Union entered the amateur league Rhein-Neckar again briefly in the upper-class football of the Electoral Palatinate between 1963 and 1972 , but there was no realistic chance of promotion to the amateur league Baden . In the period that followed, Union Heidelberg lagged behind its local rivals, the Dresden SC Heidelberg and the SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim , and sank into the insignificance of football in the Electorate of the Palatinate.

The current league is the Heidelberg district class.
