Venues of the Gauliga Baden 1943/44 (red = relay north, blue = relay middle, green = relay south)
The Gauliga Baden 1943/44 was the eleventh season of the Gauliga Baden in football . It began on October 31, 1943 and lasted until April 2, 1944. Due to the war, the division was again divided into several seasons and the champions were determined by a final round of group winners. Regular gaming was hardly possible in many places, some teams formed war gaming communities (KSG) in order to be able to participate at all. The defending champion VfR Mannheim was able to assert itself again in a superior manner and thus won the last Baden Gaume championship, because in 1944/45 only the Northern group started playing. The final round of the German championship in 1944 was played again in the knockout system, after a victory over FC Bayern Munich in the first round, VfR ended up after the round of 16 against 1. FC Nürnberg .
Since there was no game operation in South Baden in the coming season, it is unknown whether the winner of the promotion round would have been promoted to the Gauliga.
