The Gauliga Nordbayern 1943/44 was the second season of the Gauliga Nordbayern in football. Last year's champion 1. FC Nürnberg was able to defend its title in Northern Bavaria, although the "Club" was nowhere near as superior as in the previous season. For a long time, 1. FC Bamberg was able to stand up to the Nürnbergers, but went down in a direct duel three game days before the end of the round in the municipal stadium with 1:12. In the final round, the FCN advanced to the semi-finals and was eliminated there against the eventual champions Dresdner SC. In the following season 1944/45 , the two Gauligen North and South were dissolved, there were, however, five divisions at the top level, which corresponded to the Gau of the Bavarian sports area.
