The Gauliga , correct: Gauklasse Hamburg 1943/44 was the second season of the Gauklasse Hamburg of the NSRL . The Hamburg district was played again this season in a group of ten teams. The Gau championship was secured by LSV Hamburg and qualified for the German soccer championship 1943/44 , in which the Hamburgers surprisingly made it into the final. The final of the German soccer championship in 1944 was lost against Dresdner SC with 0: 4. Due to the advanced Second World War , more and more war gaming communities formed in Hamburg .
