The Spielvereinigung Blankenese von 1903 eV is a sports club from the Hamburg district of Blankenese . The first football team played for 27 years in Hamburg's highest amateur league, to which they belonged again in the 2013/14 season after an eleven-year absence.
history
From the Blankeneser men's gymnastics club founded in 1903, the SpVgg was founded in 1906. self-employed and joined the HAFB . She made it to the top division of the Hamburg-Altona district for the first time in 1913-15 and again in 1919, where the team was mostly first or third from bottom. Only in 1928 was the SpVgg able to avoid the relegation battle in fifth place. After the football revolution , the club lost its first division status. After the Second World War , the team qualified for the Hamburg City League , even took part in the North German Championship in 1946 (2-2 at SV Arminia Hannover , then not continued), but missed qualification for the Oberliga Nord in 1947 . The SpVgg became the elevator team and had to say goodbye to the association league in 1960.
After the immediate resurgence, the team moved back to the top Hamburg division in 1963, from which they were unhappy relegated two years later. After the immediate resurgence, the club was able to establish itself in the national league and in 1971 was runner-up behind VfL Pinneberg . In the promotion round to Regionalliga Nord , however, the team was overwhelmed and could only score two points, including when they were 1: 4 behind at Eintracht Nordhorn and still achieved a 4: 4.
Three years later, the SpVgg reached third in the relegation round to the Oberliga Nord and was only last in the group. In 1978 the team was relegated from the regional league when they lost out in the relegation against TSV Duwo 08 and Harburger TB . After the team almost relegated to the district league in 1983, they returned to the Hamburg association league a year later . Without a win, it promptly went back to the regional league, where the SpVgg was passed straight through to the district league.
After another national league guest game between 1987 and 1989, better times began again in 1992. With financial support from the car dealer Wolfgang Thode, the regional league was reached in 1992 and the association league three years later. There the team came third in the 1999/2000 season. Then the successful team broke up and the SpVgg had to leave the association league in 2002. Since then, the Blankenese started in the national league . In the 2003/04 season, the team was about to return to the association league, but had to accept a deduction of 15 points due to incorrectly completed match report sheets.
In the 2012/13 season Blankenese was champion of the regional league season Hammonia and rose to the Hamburg Oberliga. However, the direct relegation followed as the penultimate. In the following 2014/15 season, the Blankenese were passed through to the district league. In 2018 he was relegated to the district league and a year later to the district class.
The A-youth of the SpVgg took part in the 1989/90 season in the DFB junior club cup . After a round of 16 victory over SC Siemensstadt from Berlin , the quarter-finals ended against the Lüneburg SK .
