history

The club was founded in 1911 under the name SC Elbe . In the following ten years the club merged a total of three times, initially in 1913 with Harvestehuder FC 1912 to form Hamburger BC 1911 . In the same year the club was accepted into the North German Football Association . The next merger took place in 1919 with SC Hansa 1911 Hamburg to form Vgg Hamburger BC 1911 Hansa from 1911 , but this merger was dissolved a year later and Hamburger BC was re-established in 1911 . In 1921 they merged with Eimsbütteler SC to form Hamburg-Eimsbütteler BC . In the Second World War , the club formed from 1943 a war game community with the Sport 01 Hamburg (KSG Eimsbüttel), which ended again after the end of the war in 1945 and the HEBC Hamburg was re-established.

The HEBC played from 1945 to 1947 in 1st class Hamburg , at the time the second highest league in West German football. With the introduction of the Oberliga Nord , he continued to belong to this level, which from 1947 was called Verbandsliga Hamburg . In 1949 he was relegated to the district class , and in 1951 to the fourth-class district class at the time . From 1954 to 1957, the Eimsbütteler played again in the third division, then they rose to the Hamburg amateur league (second highest class), which they had to leave again in 1960. Until the introduction of the Bundesliga in 1963, the HEBC remained in the third division.

As champions of the District League North, the first men's team of the HEBC rose in 2010 to the sixth class Landesliga Hamburg (Hammonia Staffel), from which, however, they were relegated immediately. In 2012, the direct promotion to the regional league succeeded after the HEBC occupied 2nd place in the table in the district league north and the team had prevailed in a promotion round of the vice-champions of the district league relay. In 2014 you had to relegate to the district league again, but managed to get promoted again. In the 2017/18 season, the team became champions of the Landesliga Hammonia and rose to the Oberliga Hamburg .

In addition to the football division, the HEBC also has a table tennis division that takes part in competitions with four men's teams. The first team will play in the 1st district league in the 2020/21 season.
