The Uhlenhorster Sport Club Paloma Hamburg from 1909 e. V. is a sports club from Hamburg based in the Barmbek-Süd district . It was founded in August 1909 by young people who are enthusiastic about sports with the help of adults.
history
During the Second World War , Paloma formed together with the SV Uhlenhorst-Hertha and the SC Urania Hamburg a war game community , which played under the name Barmbecker SG from 1939 to 1943 and in the 1944/45 season in the Gauliga .
USC Paloma gained national fame with the participation of its soccer team in the 2002/03 DFB Cup by winning the Hamburg Cup , which, however, was quickly eliminated in the first round after a 5-0 defeat by 1. FC Kaiserslautern . A renewed participation in the DFB Cup succeeded in 2014 , where they had to admit defeat to the first division club 1899 Hoffenheim 0: 9 in the first round .
The first team of the handball department was part of the HG Hamburg-Barmbek (HGHB) 2007/08 Hamburg champions in the top division, the Hamburg Oberliga.
The first men's soccer team of USC Paloma plays in the major leagues.
