The Wedeler TSV is a multi-disciplinary sports club from the 33,000-inhabitant city of Wedel , which is located at the gates of Hamburg in the Pinneberg district. The first soccer team played in the Hamburg Oberliga until 2019.
Soccer
The Wedeler TV team (former name) hardly played a major role in higher amateur football in earlier decades. Towards the end of the Second World War, TV and SpVgg Blankenese formed KSG Blankenese-Wedel, which played in the Hamburg district in the 1944/45 season.
In the 1975/76 season, the team, now TSV, finished as the front runner in the Hamburg regional league Hammonia , but lost to the same point club Viktoria Wilhelmsburg-Veddel in a decider and missed promotion to the highest amateur class. A year later the TSV was runner-up behind the Harburger TB 1865 . In the 1979/80 season, relegation from the regional league followed, and the club did not return until the 1993/94 season. Just two years later, in 1995/96, Wedeler TSV became champion of the Landesliga Hammonia and celebrated promotion to the Association League Hamburg, where they stayed until 2000. After relegation in 2001 the direct return to the association league was achieved and in the 2002/03 season the club achieved promotion to the Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein Oberliga for the first time. Due to league restructuring, it was a one-year stint. The Wedeler TSV won the championship of the Landesliga Hammonia again in 2009 with coach Peter Nogly and played again in the Oberliga Hamburg until they were relegated at the end of the 2010/11 season . In 2016 they returned to the league again, but the club withdrew the team after they had just managed to stay in 2019. She is now making a new start in the A-class (9th league) in a syndicate with the newly founded Sportfreunde Holm.
Other sports
In addition to football, the Wedeler TSV also offers aikido, badminton, boxing, unicycle, fitness & health sports, handball (at HSG Rissen / Wedel), judo, karate, bowling, climbing, athletics, roller sports, swimming, dancing, table tennis, gymnastics and volleyball offered.
