Venues of the Gauliga Hamburg 1942/43 |
The Gauliga , correct: Gauklasse Hamburg 1942/43 was the first season of the Gauklasse Hamburg of the NSRL . Due to the war, the Nordmark sports area was dissolved and the Nordmark division was divided into the three smaller Gauligen Hamburg, Mecklenburg and Schleswig-Holstein at the end of the 1941/42 season . The Gauliga Hamburg was played in a group of ten teams this season. The Gau championship was secured by SC Victoria Hamburg and qualified for the German soccer championship 1942/43 , in which the Hamburg team was eliminated in the first round after a 1: 5 away defeat against Eintracht Braunschweig . The Barmbecker SG and Viktoria Wilhelmsburg have relegated . The SG OrPo Hamburg held the class, but dissolved their football department after the beginning of the following season.
